Event Road Closure –Reel Downtown
The Downtown Development Commission (DDC) in conjunction with the Nickel Film Festival will be hosting an outdoor movie screening series called Reel Downtown. This exciting new event will take place each Monday evening in July (5, 12, 19 & 26) and will begin at 8:30 each night . The event will be located on Water Street in the Fortis parking lot at the bottom of Solomon’s Lane. Reel Downtown will feature amazing films with a local flair such as “The Bingo Robbers”, as well as never seen before “Republic of Doyle” footage. Admission is free and the event will be suitable for all age groups, just bring your own lawn chair!
In order to facilitate this event, the City of St. John’s will require the closure of Water Street to both west-bound and east-bound traffic from Prescott Street to Baird’s Cove beginning at 8:00 pm and ending at 11:00 pm each evening of the event. Customers and employees as well as event attendees may park in the Fortis parking lot on Harbour Drive as well as in any of the metered spaces throughout Downtown (which are free after 6 pm and on the weekends).
