Visitors GuideThe next phase of the Harbour Interceptor Sewer (HIS) project is set to begin today, Tuesday, April 29, 2008. Water Street, east of Prescott Street will be closed to through traffic. Vehicle and pedestrian access to businesses and offices in the area from Prescot Street to Cochrane Street will be maintained. Vehicles will be able to use St. John's Lane and Holloway Street to access Water Street east.
Construction will begin at the Water Street and Cochrane Street intersection and will take place over a several week period. Once the construction is completed on the intersection of Water Street and Cochrane Streeet vehicle access on Water Street east will be extended to Cochrane Street.
This phase of the HIS project will move east on Water Street from Cochrane Street to Temperance Street. Access to local businesses and offices will be accommodated and maintained as much as possible.
