Brittania Teas and Gifts Opens Today at 199 Water Street! May 11, 2007

The province’s first shop devoted to tea opens today. Brittania Teas and Gifts carries an extensive range of quality loose teas, herbal teas, blooming flower teas, even fair trade and organic teas.

The business is the inspiration of Kelly Jones, who “just loves tea” and the ritual that goes along with it, like preheating the pot, using just the right water temperature and the proper cup. From her earliest memories, tea has played a part in her family life.

Tea was a five-times-a-day experience when she visited her grandmother (Leawood) in Brittania, Random Island. At her shop, you’ll find teas from all over the world: China, Sri Lanka, Japan, India, Taiwan, Kenya, South Africa and the U.S.

Kelly loves to share her extensive knowledge of tea, its health benefits and its popularity. Canadian drink seven billion cups a year and it’s the second most popular drink in the world (second only to water).

Drop in to 199 Water Street for a visit. Nana would approve!
