Section of Water Street to close Sunday, March 26

City Council has approved a request by Marco Construction to close a section of Water Street on Sunday, March 26 from 6:00 am to 9:00 pm. The section of Water Street from Ayre's Cove to Baird's Cove will be closed to vehicular traffic.
The closure is necessary to allow for the installation of a steel structure entrance screen on the front of the Atlantic Place. An eighty-five ton crane will be used to erect the frame as well as a boom truck with a man bucket. If work goes as planned the section of road could open as soon as 5:00 pm.
