Visitors GuideAndy Wells is back as Mayor of St.John's, polling a 6-1 margin over his only challenger, Ray O'Neill. Dennis O'Keefe is the Deputy Mayor by nearly an equally wide margin over Fred Winsor.
The Councillors at Large are Shannie Duff (with 19,236 votes), Gerry Colbert (13,635), Sandy Hickman (12,724) and Tom Hann (11,946). Sandy Gibbons missed out by about 500 votes. Incumbent Paul Sears went down to defeat, finishing sixth. Art Puddister wins Ward 1; Frank Galgay returns to Ward 2; Keith Coombs in Ward 3; Ron Ellsworth defeated Kevin Breen in Ward 4; and Wally Collins will sit in John Dinn's old seat in Ward 5. Dinn did not seek re-election. Tom Hann will be one of the new faces on council, in his new role as an at-large councillor. He says there is a lot to be done. Councillor Frank Galgay felt honoured by the show of support.
