The Christmas Parade attracts over tens of thousands of spectators, approximately 100 entries, 5000 participants, and more than 4500 volunteers.

Downtown St. John's began organizing The Annual Downtown Busker Festival in 2004. Three days each August this premier summer event brings 20,000 - 25,000 people to the Downtown core.

Over 250 pole-mounted decorations adorn the downtown area every holiday season to help light up the area and prepare for the annual Christmas Parade.

Motorists and pedestrians are advised that New Gower Street eastbound (both lanes) will be closed between Barters Hill and Queen Street beginning 7 am, Sunday, March 16 until Friday, March 21 to facilitate work on the St. John’s Convention Centre. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes and expect significant delays.
